Great radio!
Bought this unit to replace an Aiwa head unit that just stopped working. The Pioneer P6000UB is a great car stereo. This tuner pulls in stations better than my previous unit. There's one station that would always fade with the Aiwa, but it's rock solid now. The CD player sounds great. I always burn my own MP3 disks so the 2 line display of artist and song title works for me. The text scroll is kinda slow though, almost tediously slow. Using the AUX1 (Stereo 3.5 phono lack) works good to. My previous unit, I had to turn the volume all the way up to hear music on my phone or MP3 player, works at normal volume with this unit. Normal volume for me is about 30, the max goes to 62 (? weird number). I've cranked it up a couple of times. I've never heard a unit sound so clear when maxed out, and ... I've only used the USB once but I've got a 32Gb flash on order to have my full discography on tap. The Advanced Sound Retriever feature really fills out the sound. Some people have said they don't like the multifunction dial, I love it. It does take a little while to get used to it but once mastered, it's great. Who need preset buttons, just press the top or bottom of the dial to scroll through your stations. I purchased the P6000UB over the P5100UB mainly because the dial was larger. Overall, I'm VERY happy with the P6000UB!

Best Bang for the Bucks!
Got the first one for my girlfriend in fall of 2008 on sale for $150. Best deck pioneer has made in six years(under $500)! I do installs on the side(10 to 15 a year).For the price they have some of the best features in the field. To get the same features as this one you have to get the 7100bt 2009 model($250) which is great if you want bluetooth.($300 or more for other brands, Kenwood, JVC, Sony ,Ect.) After Installing most of the 2009 decks I decided to get this one for my truck (to replace My 6 yr. old 6400mp pioneer deck) but i couldn't find one under$200, so I got the 600ub premier model on sale for $170 shipped . Pros= 1. Sound quality,(if you need to save $$$ the built in cross overs are perfect for factory speakers or cheap after markets, run the rears as phantom subs crossed ... Looks (The 3 line OEL display is Beautiful) Over all styling goes great in every car I put them in! 4. USB. mp3, wma, acc(i-tunes) and wav(for the audiophiles). (How did i ever live with out it!) Works great with ipod(make sure to set up your play lists for all occasions , its not wise to start searching through your music while driving(just hit the List button, Or hold it down for alphabetical search)) If you don't have an ipod save your self hundreds, get a thumb drive ( 8gb on sale at wall-mart or k-mart for under $20) 5. Remote control ( has buttons for most of the features on it plus a mini rotary command nob just like the head unit) 6. Rotary command nob (makes navigating all the features a snap)(better yet use the remote) Cons= 1 Rotary command nob (takes time to learn, very sensitive. I keep hitting the wrong buttons( can be difficult to use in heavy traffic or at high speeds) So keep the remote handy!!! 2 Load time for high bit rate mp3's (if you have a storage device over 4gb (30 seconds or more to load my 16gb)(1 minute or more for my 32gb), unless I convert them to 192kbs, then its faster than reading a cd, 3 to 5 seconds!) Can't wait to see the 2010 models!

For the price, features and sound quality, the DEH-P6000ub is a winner.
Best things about this H/U are the three (front, rear, subwoofer) 4 volt pre-outs for a super-clean signal to your amplifier(s). 16-bit D/A converter. Dedicated tunable sub channel with x-over. 7-band graphic EQ. High and low pass filters with 5 x-over points. These are great features with which to tune a system for the best performance. Sound quality is noticeably better than my Alpine CDA-9856, right out of the box. Louder and cleaner by far. The controls and remote are user friendly and intuitive. Bright OEL display that is easy to read in the daytime or night. I really like this head unit. The 7 band EQ is very powerfull and I like the 3 high voltage preamp outputs. It is a bit difficult to operate, but if you read the manual this won't be a problem. To access the Pause function directly on the head unit you have to explore some menus and there is no mute function. These functions are on the remote control, but it would be great to have them in a button on the unit. The usb port and the aux input are on the rear, it would be better to have them in the front.
