    Better Than The Black Series

    I bought this kit to have a Black Series scale R5 and create a weathered R2. Both droids were easy to put together and actually give a better 6 in scale than the actual Black Series R2. You get A LOT of accessories for R2 or R5 and you can paint either before, during, or after assembly to even make your own personal astromech or a copy of one you saw in a film, tv show, or in a book. My only suggestion is to leave some nub on the top panels for R2, I have one panel that does not want to stay in, despite cutting it clean along the edge.

    Fun kit with many features

    Was fun putting together, especially for a first time! Came in a good illustrated box. You don't need to know Japanese to figure out the instructions. Includes both characters, and has many options for display. 5/5 would recommend.

    Bandai is awesome

    I bought these since researching for additions to my Star Wars Black series action figures. These two are actually a better fit than the Hasbro Black Series R2. They were very easy to assemble and after I was finished I immediately bought the C-3PO! Might even buy these again just for fun.

    SWB collector? These ARE the droids you're looking for!

    Same scale as Star Wars Black only better. Yes, they are model kits and the instructions aren't in English but other than some good scissors (and maybe some modeling paint for customizing) everything you need is in the box and the illustrations make the assembly easy. What I love most is the amount of display options with virtually all of an R2 units utility options available to be displayed all at once or you can have every panel closed. For a few dollars less than a single SWB R2 goes for now you can get a superior R2 AND an R5 (which is nice because you can practice your model building skills on him first).
