About this product

Product Information

Steve Martin returns as the proud patriarch of the Baker family in this sequel to the original CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN, based on a book by Frank B. Gilbreth Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth. This time, all twelve Baker kids and their parents, Tom (Martin) and Kate (Bonnie Hunt), are going on vacation, returning to their summer cabin in Wisconsin for one last hurrah before the kids grow up and go their separate ways. Lorraine (Hilary Duff) is on her way to New York to begin an internship with VOGUE, Nora (Piper Perabo) is hugely pregnant, and the Bakers want to spend some quality time all together for a change. As the family arrives at their old house, however, they realize that some things have changed--and some things never do. Tom's old high school rival, Jimmy Murtaugh (Eugene Levy) is now the big man about town, owning much of the surrounding area, and raising his large family in a huge home across the lake from the Bakers'. The longstanding competition between the two families--or at least that of the fathers--mounts over the course of their vacation, as the two men resort to ever nastier tactics of one-upsmanship. Meanwhile, Charlie Baker (Tom Welling) becomes closer with Anne Murtaugh (Jamie King), and Sarah (Alyson Stoner) embarks on her first romance with Eliot Murtaugh (Taylor Lautner). It all comes to a head when the two families face off in a canoeing race, during which they are faced with a decision between loyalty to family and friends, and the competitive edge.

  • Predictable but enjoyable

Cheaper By the Dozen 2 Predictable... a typical family comedy Not that it's bad to be typical, but I expected a little bit more out of this film. Not that it was bad or unenjoyable, I was just hoping for the best. Cheaper by the Dozen two has several incredibly funny parts but is so full of cliches that it gets old fast. The cast is great and Eugene Levy is spectacular. The pack-rat is a definite scene stealer. Final Verdict: 3/5 Rent or Buy?: This movie is a rental first, just to make sure you like it. If you have a family, chances are you'll end up owning this one. IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE. Thank you.

  • Excellent!

Wow! This one was far better than the first! Steve Martin soars in this sequel! The perfect movie for father-child relationships! One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. The family decides to take the kids to the lake and so many hilarious things happen! Perfect for the entire family!

  • Excellent

This is much better than the first movie. I laughed the whole movie. The Bakers decide to go on vacation to the lake where they have been on vacation many times. They get caught back up in a completion with their long time rivals the Murtaugh family. It is totally new and refreshing. It is not like some sequels which repeat. You will love this movie.

  • Cheaper By The Dozen 2 (2006, DVD)

My kids enjoy this movie very much. It is a good family movie that you don't have to worry about. It follows the Baker family on a last summer vacation before the kids go back to school and before some of the older kids move away. Lots of fun and pranks insu as father Tom runs into an old rival and tries to pull his family into the rivalry.

  • Cheaper by the Dozen 2 DVE

My kids absolutely LOVE this movie! It is a great family movie and it is safe for even the little kids. The characters are hysterical and the chaos is captivating. It is great time and time again.
