    Marantz 6008 is audio perfection!

    I’ll get straight to the point. This is my first foray into the Marantz brand of Audio receivers and I can’t be more impressed with the 6008 audio receiver. The Audio Receiver I had before was a Technics something or other and I thought it sounded good until I got the Marantz. Everything sounds so vibrant and rich. Keep in mind I only use the 6008 for playing my records and I haven’t delved into the network features but based on purely the sound the 6008 is top notch and for the $279 I paid for it, barring a catastrophic breakdown this is my final Receiver!

    Audio/Video upgrade

    After years of listening to compressed digital music on headphones or small audio units, this Marantz unit has brought me back to why I lIked music in the first place. I seek out uncompressed music files (FLAC) and can play from laptop through one of many HDMI connections. I bought Pioneer floor speakers, Polk center channel speaker, two bipole Polk satellite speakers, and Polk sub woofer . It was also easy to connect a Sony Blu-ray player, Verizon Fios cable box, Yamaha turntable, JVC DVD/VHS player, and Sony double audio cassette tapedeck. This SR6008 unit has no limits that I'very come across yet.

    Marantz sr6008; clean sound, large soundstage, excellent performer.

    Sound quality, lots of options (not necessarily easy to use but SO MANY features) and great video. Could not be happier with it, after a week as second owner. Unit is several years old and in great condition. Excited to set up with audessy (orig mic included- $40 bonus) as already sounds great. In Spider-Man, when the goblin says something from a balcony above to Norman O, it scared the shoes off me!!! Literally turned around expecting to see 'something' in the stairway to my basement. OMG! Using Polk Monitor 10's as FL/R, csai6 center, no subwoofer yet, and wharfedale valdus 400's as surround. Big bold but accurate sound from music and movies. I planned on hooking up my 200w/channel Adcom GFA-555 to fronts, but it's already so loud the third floor can hear movies from basement ...
