A great intorduction to Jesse Stone!

Robert B. Parker is one of my favorite authors. I have read a nice selection of his books, but I never had the chance to read the first Jesse Stone story. It is a lot of fun (and interesting) to see how this character was introduced to the story, and how he is evolving. I highly recommend this book if you are one of Mr. Parker's fans. Well worth your dollars and time. I swear I can almost hear Jesse Stones' voice when I read his dialog.

    Book

This book is average at best- exlibrary book Not in good condition. Book is dirty especially on page ends especially exposed end, also on top and bottom it’s stamped with Library’s Name, last page partly missing, spline is bent, many stickers on cover protection cover.

  • Another Great Jesse Stone Novel

This is the FIRST book about Jesse Stone, the detective who usually has a drink, a cigarette, or a babe in his hands. All three of which he is trying to QUIT! He is still is love with his ex-wife. There have been many books about Jesse as Police Chief in Paradise, Maine; however, this is the first one and it tells of how he was fired from the Hollywood Police force and hired by the Paradise Police force. Jesse will win a place in your heart and become a person that you cannot get enough of. I have devoured all the Robert B. Parker books, especially the ones about Jesse Stone. I will always buy one for me and one for my son-in-law who is also a devotee. And if I can get my hands on a signed copy......get outta the way!! I already have about EIGHT!! There is always a new and exciting ...

  • Night Passage..the first Jesse Stone novel

While Parker's Spenser has sounded (and read as) increasingly bored over the last decade or so (2 decades?), his Jesse Stone has doubts and depth galore, the writing is a wealth of descriptive detail (that is lacking in the Spensers), and all in all, is a darn good read. This first novel has Jesse, an LA homicide cop, moving to tiny Paradise, Mass., after he is fired for being drunk on the job. He's got a messed-up marriage, a very peculiar new boss, and a continuing struggle with the bottle. He's also a very nice guy. Jesse's ex-wife Jen demonstrates the same stilted speech that Spenser's Susan does (why does Parker Do that?) but that's my only quibble. There are 5 more novels after this one, all good enough to get in hardback.

  • Book by Robert B. Parker, Night Passage

I am an avid reader and was unable to find this book. When I found it on eBay at a very reasonable price I was excited to purchase it. The listing for 'Books' was very clear. Some times I have a hard time finding an item I am looking for. I wish finding any item would be made easier.especially in the clothing department. I wear a peite size 10 and usally have to go thourgh pages and pages to look for my size. Also being able to type in a color would be nice. As I am usually looking for an perticular piece of clothing. Such as 'a black coat in size 10 peite.' I love being able to purchase with Pay Pal, It makes it so easy. Thank you for asking me to review eBay, this shows me you truly care about your customers.
