    Easy as pie!

    Good router with extended range was just what I needed and this one fulfills that need. I hesitated to buy it because I thought it would be a big frustrating deal to set it up with an ethernet cable.. But it was very easy to do. I just plugged it in and it did the work by itself. Would buy this router again. Thanks.

    If you're looking for a simple workhorse Wireless-N router, you'll be happy with the WRT160N, especially considering you can get it online for $40 or less. Overall, the WRT160N is much like Linksys' WRT320N router, minus the support for the 5Ghz band and Gigabit Ethernet. Nonetheless, it retains the same compact and sleek-looking UFO-shaped design with internal antennas. The WRT160N achieved decent throughput speeds, especially in mixed mode and range testing. It also comes with a good set of networking features and a useful desktop application that helps set up and manage both the router and the local network. Also, you can use its Web interface to access its advanced features.

    Review of Linksys WRT160N Router

    I am very pleased with this router. It gave me no trouble, and was easy to use, right out of the box. I'm not a computer expert, but I was still able to figure out how to set the WRT160N up pretty easily. It works just fine, and is great for my 2-story house. I can walk around anywhere (even outside) and get good signal strength with my iTouch. The different security measures Linksys provides ensure that your network will stay safe. In general, a good buy, especially off of eBay where I payed $50 then at my local Best Buy.

    For anyone who is on a budget, this router is loaded with features!

    I have originally, from a Friend, as far as Wireless Networking, Cisco is the way to - go. I ordered this item used, and was somewhat skeptical. When I got the Item, Out of the package that I got, It was easy to set-up, After I plugged in all the wires, then proceeded to Re-set the Router ( Using a Small toothpick or something similar), Held the Re-set button for about 5 seconds, then after the router rebooted , Windows was allowed to let me set-up the "New router". Connections are now Easy, and I noticed now that My Internet speeds are much faster. For anyone who wants ease of use, easy set-up, Cisco is the way to go.

    Inconsistent

    After having read several reviews of this router, I completely agree with the negative comments left. I have had inconsistent results when using a G wireless card to connect to the network. At first, I thought it was a Mac compatibility issue. However, my new iMac purchased this year has had no problems connecting to the network, but my old iBook has had tons. When it scans for the network, sometimes its there and sometimes it isnt. When it tries to connect, sometimes it gets consistent errors and cannot, sometimes its can connect with no issue. Once its connected, sometimes it has a valid IP and sometimes it doesnt. I have never had full signal strength, even when in the same room. I tried to update the firmware when I first bought it (this is always the first step in ...
