Essential Dazzler, not quite what I remembered.
Dazzler started off with a BANG with her appearance in X-men 130 and 131. From the JRjr cover introducing her to the Uncanny John Byrne bringing her to amzing life on the pages, she seemed to be a great character off to a good start. Her subsequent appearance in Spiderman wasn't too bad and her debut in her own mag started off pretty good. The first few issues were pretty good, but quickly got bogged down with "real life" soap opera drama. I purchased them individually originally, and was going on the momentum of X-men and thought it would be ok. It didn't get better. I didn't remember this until getting the essential. Fortunately, I didn't spend a lot for it and it's not that much of a loss. She really wasn't a character that could carry her ... The character hasn't improved in the 28 years since she was created, her shining moments (aside from her debut) was during the Age of Apocolypse, such that it was. If you are a collected comics collector or just want it for nostalgia sake, pick it up. Otherwise - collect her debut in the single issue format for a better deal. I'd say buy the color individual issues of X-men 130,131, Amasing Spider-Man 203 and Dazzler 1 and 2. Even if it costs you the same as the Essential, bind it in your own trade. You'll be better off.

A SUPER-AMAZING RED-HOT COVER! BUT THE INSIDE STORY AND ART IS SADLY ICE-COLD.....
This could've been one awesome team-up. First, they should've got a better artist, then they should've kept Wolverine in his yellow and blue X-Men costume throughout the entire book and came up with a better story than what's here. The forgettable story and the dull interior artwork just washes this book far away from my collection.
