Rocksmith 2014 "rocks" but it takes work.
Once I surfed the the web to find a configuration my PC could work with, I enjoyed playing the game, and learning to play the Bass Guitar. Don't let this review be a negative to considering the product, just know that along with eagerness to play, patience to "get" to play is required. Once I figured out the right settings to play, the game is easy to use. One frustration is, though, I can only play the game after a fresh start of the computer. If I quit the game, I have to reboot my computer if I wish to play again. I have searched and understand this is an issue with PCs. Learning to rock with Rocksmith 2014
I've had the Xbox One package for three weeks and practices for 30-60 minutes a day. I'm an old dog trying to learn to play guitar. Picking the right string without looking is a challenge, not to mention contorting your fret hand to form a chord. Read my review with that in mind. Learning guitar with Rocksmith is actually fun. Some of Positives: - Playing lessons at your own pace and replaying practice tracks is a big plus for me. - Practice lessons slow down if you’re having trouble. - The practice track progression percentage let you know how well you are doing for each lesson. - The games in Guitarcade are great for muscle memory repetitive motion. - The photos detailing hand positions to prove someone hands can actually bend that way. My chromatic tuner displays that I hit the right note, but Rocksmith tells me to move up/down a fret. Great package that I would recommend to anyone wanting to learn guitar.

Addictive, Fun, and Effective.
I really bought the PC version of Rocksmith just for the cord so I can play 2 player on the PS3 version. I really haven't played RS on PC, but I have been completely entertained by the PS3 version. It is very, very, very fun and challenging, and I recommend RS for anyone interested in playing guitar or bass. I can spend hours playing RS, and notice that I said "playing" and not "practicing". Progress comes fast the first two months, which is encouraging. A few months into it, I bought a bass and a second guitar for guests, but nobody wants to play with me! They think they don't know how, but I guarantee that anybody could be playing guitar or bass (especially bass) and having a blast within an hour. So, I've been playing for five months. I try to get my 13 year old son to play, but he is so sucked into COD that he doesn't want to all that often. That brings up the only drawback to RS, the song list. I'm 52, and I love the songs, but the 13 year old didn't. After all, it is called ROCKsmith, not RAPsmith. You should check out Audreytalks123, or something like that on YouTube. She is a 10-11 year old Japanese girl that learned tomay exclusively through RS, and she shreads everything that RS throws at her. In the end, RS is an addictive game and learning tool that adjusts to your level of play, and I'm sure you will love it. Think ahead and get a second cable and another bass and or guitar, so others can at and learn with you.

Bought mainly for the cable since I wanted a backup cable. I have played Rocksmith on xbox 360 and xbox one and now playing it on PC. Always wanted to learn Bass and with RS2014 I have really enjoyed playing and after playing Rock band, Rocksmith has the feel of a game but you are actually using a musical instrument and after awhile when using a amp you can start hearing the music you are actually playing the song which is what makes you want to keep playing . Some people will say that Rocksmith is just a game and you don't learn theory blah blah but unless you have extra spending money for traditional lessons this is the next best thing due to you can play anytime you want . I have good and bad things to say about Rocksmith. I've had Rocksmith a couple of months now and it has improved my playing and its still fun to use. There are enough songs that I like with the package and I plan to buy a couple more in the future. I've played rhythm guitar for years but wanted to improve into doing more leads and Rocksmith seems to be helping me do this. I enjoy the way songs are presented, first simplified and slowly becoming more complex as you master them and the exercises that are suggested when you are having troubles compliment the package. Now the bad stuff. The installation is a pain in the ass and the software is NOT on the disk. The disk is some kind of decoy to get you to install a huge software loading program that is chock full of ads and tries to runs ... I have good and bad things to say about Rocksmith. To get the actual game you have to go online and download it. You need to use a huge password they print in the manual so many times they put a copy button beside it! Then you have to create an account which in my opinion is really only there to keep you from selling the game as they try to tie it to your personal name and link it with other purchases made with this same account. When you run the game you are actually also running a program that is supplying ads trying to get you to buy other products. I don't like running extra software, I don't like being forced into an ad program and I don't like being mislead to think I'm buying a product when actually the product is hidden somewhere on the internet. I wonder what happens if Ubisoft goes bust or they decide to stop developing Rocksmith, will it go away and my disk become useless? Make sure you set a restore point before installing all these packages.
