Very accurate and true to life facts.
I grew up in this area and this era. I remember how the heroin flooded the neighborhood and lots of visible evidence could be seen all around me. One of the guys mentioned in this documentary, lived in the Patterson Projects in my building at 2595 3rd Ave. This was very informative and accurate. From my own memory, I recall events of my early life in the area and how the "hood" was flooded with drug addicts. I saw no future growing up there so I enlisted in the US Army in hopes of putting all the negativity behind me and finding a better life in my future. I grew up in this area and this era. It was a good documentary. It contradicts some parts of the movie American Gangster. In the documentary, Frank Lucas is briefly mentioned. It's not mentioned that Nicky Barnes bought heroin from Frank Lucas as in the movie American Gangster. It just shows that Nicky Barnes was connected to the Italian Mafia. So who really had the heroin trade in Harlem.

They don't make drug dealers like this anymore. These were the last days of the true gangsters. Thank God. Excellent documentary and if you lived in NY during this time then you get to see the inside of the damage and carnage that was done to Harlem during this time.
