    An excellent depiction of the difficulties of the rebirth of Israel as a nation

    This is an excellent movie depicting a four month period from February thru May 1948. This was the time of preparation for announcing to the world the rebirth of Israel as a nation. it is very good depiction of the events and is accurate except for the relationship between the Colonel and his secretary. It is a great movie about overcoming obstacles.

    Cast a Giant Shadow. The birth of Israel.

    Very well done film. The actors all did a very credible job portraying the individuals they played. Especially Luther Adler as Ben Gurion. Historical scenes of 1947 appeared to be accurate. Well worth having.

    Movie based on events of the "Six day war"...

    I saw bits of this movie years ago. I remember it being so good that I had to see it again but from the beginning. This movie does not disappoint! Based on real life events in Israel over 40 years ago. Incredible story!

    Oldie but a goodie

    Read the book this was based on back in the 1960s, but never saw the movie made at the same time. Now I have seen it and it was worth the wait. It is a good, true story not too gussied up by Hollywood. A good performance by Kirk Douglas.
