Die hoefische Literatur diente in erster Linie der Unterhaltung. Der Parzival ist aber in seiner Form und seinem Inhalt weitaus mehr als das. Die Handlungen des Protagonisten fuhren zu Fragen auf Seiten des Lesers, der Erzahler lasst die Rezipienten oft im Dunkeln stehen, spannt Boegen und bindet die Zuhoerer in das Geschehen ein, ja fordert sie oftmals zum Mitdenken auf. Auch die Frage der Schuld und Unschuld Parzivals kommt immer wieder auf, welche hier zu beantworten versucht werden soll. In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die Verfehlungen Parzivals und deren Ursachen beschrieben und analysiert. Die Frage nach Schuld oder Unschuld soll anhand von Textstellen und nicht durch psychologische Interpretation beantwortet werden. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es zu belegen, dass Parzivals Verfehlungen nur aufgrund mangelnder Erziehung und der daraus resultierenden tumpheit erfolgt sind. Zu Beginn der Hauptseminararbeit wird ein Blick auf die Vorgeschichte, namlich die der Eltern Parzivals geworfen, um die Grunde spaterer Handlungen der Mutter besser einordnen zu koennen. Danach wird die Zeit in Soltane, wohin Herzeloyde mit ihrem Sohn zieht, dargestellt und die Erziehung Parzivals fern von hoefischem Leben untersucht werden. Im Anschluss daran uberspringt die Autorin einen Teil des dritten Buches und widmet sich den Lehren Gournemnanz', welche eine wichtige Rolle in der Entwicklung des jungen Parzivals haben. Nachdem die Erziehung durch die Mutter und durch Gournemanz dargestellt wurde, werden Parzivals Verfehlungen behandelt, welche den UEberfall auf Jeschute, die Toetung Ithers und das Versaumnis der Frage beinhalten.
