Buy this book and "Love is a Dog from Hell" both by Bukowski.
Not for the light of heart. This is a selection of Charles Bukowski's poetry from the mid 50's to the early 70's. It is comprised of some of his greatest works that will leave you crying for more. For anyone new to Charles Bukowski's work, these poems were written with the intent to describe the real human experience. There's no fluff, no illusions, no sugar coating, just raw experience. He shows the darker side of life while incoporating the hidden beauty that can be found from this darkness. He sleeps with whores and is drunk by noon. He bets on the horses and hides in the bars. He doesn't know where he is going but he'll be damned if he doesn't go without a bottle of wine! These works are best read after a drink or two, with the lights dimmed, and the music playing softly.
