About this product

Product Information

For Taoists everywhere, the New York Times bestseller from the author of The Te of Piglet. Happy 90th birthday (10/14/16), to one of the world's most beloved icons of literature, Winnie-the-Pooh! The how of Pooh? The Tao of who? The Tao of Pooh!?! In which it is revealed that one of the world's great Taoist masters isn't Chinese--or a venerable philosopher--but is in fact none other than that effortlessly calm, still, reflective bear. A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh! While Eeyore frets, and Piglet hesitates, and Rabbit calculates, and Owl pontificates, Pooh just is. And that's a clue to the secret wisdom of the Taoists.

It is in excellent condition. Apparently they stopped printing this book last year!! I was surprised no book store in Los Angeles carried it. Thank you 🙏

  • Cute way to Incorporate Taoism using our lovable Pooh

Benjamin Hoff's simple story-telling using the characters from Winnie the Pooh creates a calm and interesting atmosphere in which he introduces the reader to Taoism. He goes on to prove that Pooh "just is" - that he lives the simple life and follows "the way." In short, the reader can hit two birds with one stone by reading this book: learn about Taoism, and enjoy a creative little story with childhood characters. Hoff's The Tao of Pooh is a fast read and pleasant all the way through. I decided to buy this book because the cover art caught my attention: that Pooh was drifting away on a kite with a yin-yang on it. In ways more than one, this cover art symbolizes Hoff's message quite simply.

  • Love this book! Great insights in an amusing and entertaining way.

This is one of my favorite books. I buy it on clearance sales whenever I can to give as gifts. It's got so many good insights (for both Eastern and Western ways of thinking). With Pooh and friends providing the insights, they seem clear and easily understood; something a lot of people have trouble with when reading about Taoism and other Eastern religions. It also shows that Taoism is more a way of life than a typical religion. Easily makes my top five books to have on a deserted island.

  • Pooh,always has the answer

A book I have read since childhood. I have given my copy away at least 10 times. If you have a 20 something person in your life this is the book for them. This book will give them the hint they are looking for. A perfect gift for young adults.

  • a peaceful way of life

Benjamin Hoff explain the principles of Taoism in a simple and effective way by applying it to an American classic "Winnie-the-Pooh". He goes through and explains the principles of taoism and how they can be intricatly explained and portrayed through each of the Winnie-the-Pooh Charaters, such as Rabbit, Tigger, Eyeore, and Owl. He focuses a great deal upon Pooh, and how he is the ideal persona under the taoism way of thinking
