I was slightly nervous about buying from outside the UK. However there was no need. Excellent communication throughout the whole process. Item arrived as expected. Excellent tracking of the item via the courier. The items both look brand new as advertised. Very well packaged. I have not had time to use it but i’m sure it will be fine as this is clearly a honest genuine seller. Highly Recommend 👍. Thank you.

  • EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II good kit level zoom for 1.6 crop sensor Canons

This is great lens to complement the standard 18-55mm IS II kit lens that comes with a lot of EOS 550d/600d/650d, if you like wildlife/sports photography. Effective focal length compared to a standard 35mm is 88-400mm on a 1.6 crop sensor. This is a pretty capable zoom for casual use. It's reasonably sharp & the autofocus is pretty good. It's not fantastic in low light, but the image stabiliser is actually pretty good and does allow shooting a couple of notches lower on shutter speed than you could normally hand hold. It also works well while panning which is an improvement on the older model IS lenses.

  • Gopod value for the price.. not a lens to be ashamed of!

This is an excellent lens for it's price. Whilst it cannot match robust and optical quality of L lenses it gives an aps type body similar capabilities to a 100-400 mm lens on a full frame body. Although not weatherproof it is lightweight and makes a good travel lens when bulk and weight are important. There is no distortion to worry about and it's sharpnes is surprisingly good. As with any lens, it is best to try to fill the feame as much as possible with the subject being photographed and big enlargements (to clarify a small object in the frame) tend to emphasise noise. Overall an excellent lens for the money with no serious drawbacks.

  • Beginners Coice

I purchased the item to go with my Canon EOS 500D T1/rebel camera which came with a 18-55mm lens. This 55-250mm lens is the cheapest way to have the posess the ability to be able to cover shots from 18-250mm. The equivalent single lens with this capacity would cost almost twice as much. The down side to this is that you have to swap the lenses over at times. If you are going to be using your camera for fast moving action shots where you are tracking and shooting you will be limited to one lens or the other. But if you are shooting planned images such as wildlife or vista shots you can pick and choose at you leisure. The lenses are easy to handle and change over. The bodies are of a plastic but the locating pins and mechanisms are metallic. Overall the lens is quite sturdy. The auto-focus ...

  • Decent entry level, best value for money.

Having my new EOS 1100D for about a month, this purchase was almost certain from the beginning. This is my entry in DSLR photography and I have only to compare with my previous baby, PowerShot S5IS. Some fellows at work at first made some comments that created some doubts regarding the lens's brightness. So, I was rather happy to see that my expectations were highly met with the quality and the sharpness of the images taken. Targeting towards daylight sports, the depth of field achieved gave me some excellent shots with no problems at all. I have to admit that I was not ready to afford now at the beginning the amounts that similar lenses demanded. A tripod helps a lot in night shots for the moon and stars and I had a very nice set of shots during an open-theater performance with rather ...

  • Very satisfied

EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II is ideal for even smaller wildlife (like birds). And if you'd like to add a little context to the image just zoom out to a minimum of 88 mm. But wildlife and sports photography also require low f-stops to achieve fast shutter speeds. The EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II offers f/4 at the wide end but only f/5.6 at the tele end which is a little slow. At least the excellent image stabilizer helps with slower shutter speeds but of course that can't prevent blur from subject movement. At the wide end the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II has just the right focal length for nice portrait shots. Again the aperture rating is not excellent but certainly sufficient for this purpose and the large zoom range will even allow closeups from far away.
