About this product

Product Information

My Word Coach, part of Ubisoft's lineup of casual-friendly titles with an educational twist, is a series of spelling and vocabulary building exercises in the spirit of Nintendo's Brain Age. Using the stylus and touch-screen interface, players are challenged to complete six spelling and word-recognition activities as quickly as possible. Players will input missing letters from words, spell out the answers to various definitions, choose which word matches a particular definition, form specific words with Scrabble-like tiles, and more. Players are encouraged to revisit My Word Coach on a daily basis to reinforce their memory and improve their overall ranking. Three levels of difficulty are available, and the game includes a built-in dictionary of over 17,000 words. Wireless support is also offered for head-to-head competition in two of the featured activities.

Wonderful and friendly seller, disclosed information about very minor cosmetic issue of a couple of stickers being on the item from their previous days as library books. All 17 volumes arrived in good condition packed well! This manga is older than me, so having it be almost exactly in the condition I read it over a nearly two decades ago was amazing. Great seller! Good price. Fast shipping. Thank you so much :)

  • Fun Vocabulary Refresher

I might be too literary for the broad spectrum this game was designed to entertain - I don't find it very challenging. Its not to say that it isn't fun, it has cute games. But I find it a little limiting, I get thru my "daily quota" to fast to spend much time with this game, its designed to not add more words at a set point. However the characters for coaching are neat. I find this to be a game I unwind with. If you want a fun verbal challenge pick up a "My (any language) Coach" instead. But if you are just looking to dust off your skills with our american english have at it (no grammer lessons involved).

  • Well worth the $6 I paid for it. : )

I bought this for myself, because I seem to have a hard time finding the right word sometimes. : ) I first thought after playing was, how is this going to help? The games are timed, and you need to go fast. I didn't get how that was going to put words I didn't know in my head. Now a couple weeks later, I am picking up words through the repetition. I like a few of the games more than others and play those repeatedly. I have three children so I am not on it everyday as the game is set to challenge you to do. I also do not always complete my daily goal that it has set for me. That doesn't seem to affect my game playing, or the enjoyment. I like it, and as long as I am not too tired, I enjoy playing it a bit everyday.

  • Definitions are Just Okay, but Still Actually Works!

My Word Coach for Nintendo DS/DS Lite helps you improve your vocabulary. The games are fun and educational! The two best games I think are Split Decision and Word Shuffle because they incorporate the definition with the word. Pasta Letters and Safe Cracker also incorporate the definitions, but they are a little harder. There are many words to learn and this is a fun way to help your brain, your writing, and your speech. For me, the letter recognition is very good most of the time. You also get to choose your own coach character. Each is fun...my favorite is Penny, the little poet girl. What I don't like is how the definitions of words don't tell you whether it is a noun, verd, adjective, etc. Sometimes the definitions are wordy and a context is put into the definition which I ...

  • Fun & Educational - a great game on the go!

What I liked about MY WORD COACH: ~~Very easy to start it up and start playing...didn't need to read an instruction booklet to understand the games or controls ~~Great variety of words, from easy to medium to difficult (about 17,000 words) ~~Definitions of the words are included (after the game you are playing is finished) so it's not just 'some word' you get familiar with seeing, you can learn what the word is and how to use it in a sentence ~~Improves your spelling ~~Improves your language comprehension ~~Improves your vocabulary ~~Improves your thinking and reaction speed ~~6 different word games (all fun) with 3 levels of difficulty, as well as the ability to do a multi-player option with other players on other DS systems, wirelessly ~~You can have up to 3 player profiles ...
