Excellent mini stereo microphone!
This microphone is compact and easy to use on a variety of portable stereo recorders dealing with cassette, MD, and DAT formats. The sound reproduction is very good for such an affordable product.

Not good for live music
I bought this to record live music concerts. I recorded a band at an outdoor event, and the sound was extremely distorted. Bass in particular. The built microphone on my phone sounded better.

It's good, but not for what I got it for...
Why I got it: Sony has a reputation for quality. That was a big plus for this microphone. I have noticed with Sony products that the audio tends to accentuate the high-mids in the spectrum. Even knowing that, I couldn't resist the compact size of this stereo microphone. What I wanted it for was to use as an extension to the microphone on my video camera (Canon - not Sony). Video cameras tend to pick up my voice and breathing really well... too well... while moderately more distant subjects, say like the people I'm filming, are too quiet. Using an external microphone, and one pitched forward will fix some of that problem. What went wrong: Just plugging in the microphone into the camera proved that it was not going to work at all. I bought it because I gave mine to my daughter to use on her Sony recorder. Found it to be very cheap on EBAY. Had the feature of either plugging directly into my Sony digital recorder or by supplied extension cable. Has stereo capability for my recorder and previous one worked with surprisingly good fidelity and image separation. I have used this once for music recording and it did the job. I would buy another if needed.I bought it because I gave mine to my daughter to use on her Sony recorder. Found it to be very cheap on EBAY. Great Condenser Mic for the money and it's purpose.
