It will make the Scriptures come alive. It will change your beliefs about some very specific things because the original text is quite different from the English translation. An example: When the English translation speaks of John the Baptist eating locusts and wild honey, I (as well as many others) was taught to believe that he ate grasshoppers, or some such insect. The same verse in the original text reads that John the Baptist ate leeks or turnips. That made me wonder what else has been misinterpreted, so I dove into the study of Scripture and have been so pleased because it makes more sense.It will make the Scriptures come alive.
