Relative Speed vs. price and build quality
This is not the fastest USB 2.0 memory dongle out there. That said, it is more than adequate in terms of "read" speed, which is generally more important to the majority of users. A handful of these on an externally powered USB 2.0 port makes for an excellent weekly backup system. Six of these approach a 180 GB SSD hard drive that can be fit into a small plastic or metal box and stored off-site. We back up our music, document files and the like with this configuration. Using color coded tape to identify drives by topic helps. If the drive shell was longer or larger, using a bar code system would make archiving faster and simpler.This is not the fastest USB 2.0 memory dongle out there. Too hard to get it into the USB slot of my computer as well as stiffness in removing it.
This is a terrible design on this specific one. SanDisk has great other flash drives. But this particular one has an issue with getting it into the slot of the USB of my computer as well as removing it is very stiff. That is bad because you can really do some damage to the computer USB slot drive. I won't buy this particular one but the bigger ones of SanDisk are better. These USB flash drive should get in and out easily into the USB slot but not this one.This is a terrible design on this specific one. SanDisk has great other flash drives. Good value, minor cons
Bought this flash drive because it's a good price, has the capacity I needed, and likely to be reliable because it's made by SanDisk. I don't stream anything from this, so its relatively slow transfer rate is not a big deal. I have never had a USB drive made entirely of plastic, but I don't take it in and out of my desktop much, so it should do fine for my use.

How can you say anything bad about it? It works. It's also better than those old retractable flash drives that had a tendency to break at the connector. These inserts are sturdy and durable.

While this is a good value, please note that this is not a USB 3.0 drive, so don't expect anything blazing fast. However, it is exactly as described and brand new. Durable and compact as well.
