An Xbox exclusive for 2003, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 continues the squad-based shooter series with 14 new single-player missions, nine multiplayer maps, and over 30 weapons. Instead of porting the PC's Raven Shield, the developers at Ubi Soft Montreal opted instead to create an original release designed specifically for the console. Players control Team RAINBOW's Ding Chavez throughout the entire solo campaign, commanding fellow agents Louis Loiselle, Dieter Weber, and Eddie Price. Players will issue orders to teammates, such as tossing a flash grenade into a room after opening a door, using the directional pad. The available list of commands varies depending on the situation at hand.<br><br>Rainbow Six 3 for Xbox does away with the planning phase found in the PC version of the game, but the 3D engine still uses Epic Games Inc.'s Unreal technology for dynamic lighting effects and "soft body" physics. Multiplayer action is available via Xbox Live, including voice recognition support for issuing commands as an alternative to using the menus. All 14 levels in the single-player campaign can be played cooperatively with three other friends, while deathmatches and other competitive formats support up to 16 players at once. Downloadable content is also supported for additional maps, levels, or other features. Rainbow Six 3 also features Dolby Digital 5.1 audio to help immerse players into the real-world locales featured in the game.

Not as good as Rainbow 1 and two
very hard game even on easiest mode. Only 480 resolution will not fill the modern screen. seems like the developer went backwards from rainbow 1 and 2.

Ding does it again
This game is really good. It is alot like Rainbow Six 3 but with some new features. The graphics are good but not quite like HALO 2 but still pretty realistic. If you enjoyed the other Rainbow Six games you know what to expect, It is a game where you are on a SWAT or Anti Terror Team and you rescue hostages, destroy targets or disarm bombs and it is all done very well. You can even give commands to your squad with the headset and this makes it really immersive. Another thing that is good is when you go on Xbox LIVE you get FREE multiplayer maps. There are alot of different gameplay types and that adds alot to the replay. this is one great tactical shooter. Like I said DING does it again....I recommended it.This game is really good. Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow, just a few thoughts...
Game was always a little choppy in online mode but still a great FPS in offline play. There is a little bit of reasoning work that needs to be done to complete the Campaign modes, and the enemy AI isn't fantastic but decent enough to hand you your butt when you're not expecting it. Even your insertion team isn't all that great, taking much longer than needed at times to clear a room after a flash, frag or breaching charge. It's worth keeping in your library though. If you're a fan of First Person Shooters, then RB63 BA is definitely a great choice. Still lots of fun and if you have an XBox live account people are still playing it online occasionally as of Sept. 2008. --- Having a microphone definitely helps for online play.Game was always a little choppy in online mode but still a great FPS in offline play. Now you see the terrorist...........now you don't
I have to say I really enjoyed this game. Not too technical or complicated and really fun to play. This was the first squad based shooter I played where you lead your squad of three other members on 14 counter terrorism missions all over the world. I thought the graphics were good as were the sounds of the game. A game like this needs to be played in surround sound if you have it. The enemies are not hard to hit, but with your surroundings and number of bad guys to come at you and your team, I think this makes up for it. You are in control of Team Rainbow and your job is to take out a terrorist organization threatening the peace between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, who controls oil from that region. This game also allows for voice commands through the xbox headset which I did not get the ... I have to say I really enjoyed this game. Not too technical or complicated and really fun to play. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 for the Xbox system is one of the best games in the Rainbow Six series. The gameplay and the story line is very thrilling. You must lead your team through missions where you never know where the terrorists could be hiding. They could be on the rooftops, behind a turned over car, or taking cover behind some rubble. The choice of weapons is cool and the night and thermal vision is very helpful. Whether you play alone or online, it is an exciting and edge of your seat thrill ride all the way through. The controls are very easy to get use to. The scenery and sounds and voices make it seem like you are right there with the team. Very cool game for any gamer who likes team shooters or anti-terrorism games. Recommended for anyone who likes to feel like he or she is in a ... It would be very cool to be in an elusive team such as Rainbow. Stopping treats from foreign enemies. You will enjoy this game a whole lot. 5 stars. One of my top 10 favorite games.
