Does not work with Windows 10, even with Legacy drivers.
I like the features of the card, in particular the header on the card for plugging in a cable from the front panel on my computer. Unfortunately, there's some bad news. Although support for Firewire was officially dropped in Windows 10, Firewire adapter cards could still be made usable by using "Legacy" drivers. That is, until the release of Windows 10, versions 1903 and 1909. Starting with version 1903, Firewire was rendered inoperable, either unintentionally or by design, even when using the Legacy device drivers. Unfortunately, I didn't find this out until after I had purchased the interface card and discovered that it wouldn't work, through no fault of the card itself. For users of Windows 7, the card should work with the supplied drivers, and Windows 8 and 8.1 should still work with the Legacy drivers. I don't know if or when Firewire functionality will ever be fixed in Windows 10, so for now at least, users of Windows 10 should not purchase this (or any other) Firewire interface card.

Perfect for old forensic hubs
I use a tableau forensic hub which needs a 1394-b connector to connect to the host machine. Originally I intended to use a server for this setup but decided I wanted faster speed. I also have a security NAS which uses the older 1394a connection external which is great for backing up data through the card instead of using processing power of the computer. For my purposes this card is excellent and I will continue to use it. Quality: The soldering points are absolutely perfect even better than the soldering on the tableau forensic hub. Everything on this card was soldered with precision without errors. I may in the future purchase another one since one of this quality usually fetches higher prices. Cons: The only thing that could have made this card better would have been an internal 1394b connection so you don't have to route the cable outside the box.

Low profile firewire card
The cards went right into my HP elite 8000 and 8200. The braces was tight in one of them. Recognized right away under Windows7,1 and Windows 10 respectively. Tested with an external firewire drive (firewire 800 connection) and both are working fine :-)
