More than Expected!
I was using wireless N with a connection distance of about 100 feet from my router. My speeds were atrocious. My speeds with this an antenna have quadrupled. The only thing to improve it would be some type of support to keep it from hitting the ground because of the cord length and its light weight.

JUNK that fails in a few weeks - or less!
I bought one, and thought it was great. Good range, good speed. So I ordered two more. But by the time they arrived, my WiFi connection kept dropping for no reason. I thought maybe it was my USB port. I already found out that this adapter DOES NOT work on a USB3.0 port, despite constant nagging that it will perform better on a USB3.0 port. But now it was turning off even on a USB2.0 port. It would drop the connection, and the only cure was to unplug it and plug it in again. When the new ones arrived, I tried one of them - first on the USB3.0 port. Nope, didn't work. Then on the USB2.0 port. Yep.. that worked. It wasn't a bad port So I was a bit annoyed that the first one had already died. Well, within a week, the second one did the same thing. So I tried the ... I bought one, and thought it was great. I guess I was real lucky to get a few weeks out of the first one. So now I have three pieces of junk to throw out. It also came with an unneeded "utility" that I tried to get rid of, but when I uninstalled it, it took the drivers with it. Well, no matter now...

Great wifi adapter for $11
The adapter arrived in 2 days. Put on antennas, plugged it in to USB slot, ran the setup from the install CD & the drivers won't load. The drivers on the included CD don't have the correct digital signature. Went to ourlink.us/pages/driver-download downloaded 1200mbps wifi adapter driver download to a thumb drive & installed on the old computer. New drivers loaded and after a little tweaking the adapter was installed & running. The best I get where I have the adapter is about 70% signal strength and about 13mbps which is not bad for where I am using it. The only problem I have encountered so far is it won't come back on when you bring the pc out of sleep mode or hibernation - you have to restart. That's not a major issue for me since I power off my pc when I'm ... The adapter arrived in 2 days. Worth buying if you need the features.
Reasonably priced solution for getting onto less congested Wi-Fi space for older computers. Downloaded the latest Realtek drivers with no issues on Windows 10. I purchased for purpose of doing Wi-Fi surveys.

not worth the extra money
Works no better than some of the cheapo adapters I've tried at 1/3 the price. If it isn't hanging in its "happy place" next to the window, it works no better than the built-in adapter in my laptop. I bought it hoping I could actually sit at a table 6 feet from the window, rather than sitting at the window to keep the signal from dropping. I can do that with the laptop alone. On the plus side, it drops the connection slightly less than the laptop and shows 3-4 bars vs. 3 with laptop alone, so I'll hang onto it and maybe try hanging it high outside with a longer USB cord. But if that doesn't work, I will still have to sit at the window to stay connected. :( Thinking I should have just splurged on an Engenius WAP and saved myself this wasted $20.Works no better than some of the cheapo adapters I've tried at 1/3 the price.
