Arrived a day early. It is fairly sharp out of the box. The blade is full tang and thicker than a normal machete, it has no flex in it like a machete, it is solid. The handle bites your palm on the back of it, file down those metal edges or wrap electrical tape on the handle or wrap some Paracord around the handle. If you use Paracord, it won't snap the sheath retaining strap closed unless you pull up the combat machete a tad so it can snap around the thinner part of the handle. Good buy for $19

This has some iffy reviews on the web, but c'mon, it's pretty darn good for the price! Don't order cheap and then complain you didn't get Excalibur. This is a good, sturdy utilitarian knife / machete.

I don't know what the complaints are about, its reasonably sharp, looks just like the pictures, full tang, and under 20 dollars.

    Cheap looking but good steel!

The wood handles and sheath look cheap, but the stainless steel is much better (3CR13) than the usual 420 stainless. Takes an edge quite quickly and retains it acceptably. The cheapness of the knife and sheath can be greatly diminished by wrapping the wood handles with a tape designed for handles. I used a silicon self-sticking tape that increased the height of the handle nicely, made it absolutely "no slip", and, to my eye, better looking. I used shoe polish on the sheath which, when buffed, gave it a nice, almost weathered, look.

    Big Surprise

Okay you get what you pay for... that said the knife looks okay for the blade but when you move to the handle that is where the cheap comes into play...the handle is thin to the grip and put together with two pins. The guard for the thumb is not solid but split(view pictures) The sheathing is really cheap, thin and not leather ... it covers the knife with no thrills... guess I was Expecting more... but might use it for something. Don’t think I would recommend this knife

  • Better than expected

Bought two, slight differences such as handles and hilts being slightly off measurements. These are small issues. Blades are sharp and straight. Good leather case for it. Not too heavy or light with good hand feel. Shape of a knife size of a machete. These look good and feel good.

  • Disappointing

Everything about this knife/blade was “ made in china”. It’s cheap and long, but not a high quality blade. The handle/ grip was not shaped correctly and numerous modifications had to be made to make it usable. A paracord grip addition was a huge improvement. I would not buy this again.

  • Awesomeness with a side of HOT DIGGITY!

Xelente'. Suuuuperbe! Niffty AND Swell. Wowzers! I find this item to be of fine craftsmanship, a well honed blade with a fine grip. Long and narrow, similar to the WWI bayonets me grandpappy hunted down enemy vermin with and chatted about the weather with. C the humor there? Made in....? Bwaaaah!!!
