Fast shipping and exactly as described. Works perfectly for my Chrysler mini-van struts. I've seen complaints that the threads stripped on the threaded rod. The key to preventing stripped threads is to reduce friction. Compressing the spring creates a lot of stress on the threads which creates heat from friction, LOTS of heat, and it can soften the steel of the treads. ALWAYS grease the threaded rod to reduce friction

Grease the threads and tighten slowly

Works perfectly for my Chrysler mini-van struts. No issues with bending or materials in general. I like the 1/2 square hole for a ratchet wrench in the end of the rod. Very convenient. I've seen complaints that the threads stripped on the threaded rod. The key to preventing stripped threads is to reduce friction. Compressing the spring creates a lot of stress on the threads which creates heat from friction, LOTS of heat, and it can soften the steel of the treads. A side note: I've seen stubborn axle nuts on trailers actually become welded to the spindle just from friction heat. ALWAYS GREASE THE THREADED ROD TO REDUCE FRICTION AND TIGHTED THE ROD SLOWLY.

  • Easy to use and great features.

Well built is what this product is. I like that it has pins to help hold the springs in place it's a big deal when dealing with thees kind of spring pressures. Proper use and oiling the threaded shafts before and after each use means your good to go.

  • Good spring compressor with a case

This is a good spring compressor for struts and suspension work, it works perfectly when used correctly. It comes with a nice case to store and protect the threads from damage and dirt when you're done. The threaded rod can be turned with a 3/4 wrench or a 1/2 drive ratchet. A few things to keep in mind and be aware of, if the rod is binding or hard to turn, stop and recheck, something is probably not right, it does not take a lot of force to compress the spring, I purchased another brand of spring compressor that also came with a case and although the tool and box look exactly the same, the tread pitch on the rod is different and are not interchangeable. I damaged one of the rods from the first kit and was hoping the parts are interchangeable, they are not.

  • Heavy duty

More heavy duty than I expected, you still need to use care when compressing the spring.
