    BOOK: PARTY SHOES, by Noel Streatfeild

    What a sweet book. It is an Oxford Children's Classic, Oxford, England. Such an enchanting book and even for adults. Noel Streatfeild does a marvelous job narrating the story of his niece , Nicolette, living in war torn England, during WWII. Nicolette receives a parcel mailed to her from a relative in America. Just receiving a parcel during the war and from America was excitement enough for Nicolette. Inside her package was a "pretty frock and shoes." Streatfeild, continues "A lovely frock of the sort that nobody had because of clothes rationing. He goes on to elaborate on the beautiful dress and its journey throughout Nicolette's life. It is a fine book to read to your children and adults will thoroughly enjoy it also. It isn't just a girl's book. Enjoy!
