Book and story reminds you why we have a kinship with dogs more then any other animal on earth.
The author explains why there was a unique connection between him and this particular dog. Being a "marathon" hiking race runner within a partners group, his small team (4) had competed in countries around the world and chanced meeting many stray animals. This dog was different. With an almost "noble" quality (hence the name he gave it "Arthur" after the King) he noticed a steadfast upright stance when approached along the trails by others of his kind. Never wavering, always seemingly in control or command. A strong determination to follow this group of new found friends to the finish line and maybe a new home. The book unfolds in a heart warming ending as the author and the race group realizes the dog is part of their team now and separation at this point will not be an option. That this ...
