YOU'D BETTER BE HANDY IF YOU BUY THIS NEDD!
I BOUGHT ONE OF THESE EXCEPT IT HAD THE BULLET TRUSS ROD INSTEAD OF THE TRUSS ROD AT THE HEEL. I MEAN WHO WANTS AN ADJUSTMENT AT THE HEEL ANYMORE. THIS NECK LOOKS NICE NOW BUT BE PREPARED TO DO A LOT OF WORK. THIS DOES NOT COME WITH THE TUNING MACHINES. IT DOES NOT COME WITH ANY PILOT HOLES AT ALL. YOU HAVE TO BUY THE TUNING MACHINES. THE PLACE I BOUGHT THIS FROM SENT ME FENDER PURE VINTAGE 70'S TUNING MACHINES. IT'S A 70'S NECK RIGHT? IT MADE SENSE BUT THOSE DID NOT FIT. I HAD TO REAM OUT THE PEG HOLES BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO WAIT FIVE MORE DAYS TO GET ANOTHER WRONG SET YOU CATCH MY DRIFT. NO HELP AT ALL FROM THAT COMPANY.. I MARKED PUNCHED AND DRILLED FOR THE TUNERS AFTER REAMING THE PEG HOLES OUT. THAT WENT O.K. THEN I HAD TO CLAMP THE NECK TO THE BODY OF MY BASS SO IT STAYED EXACTLY ... I'M NOT SURE EXACTLY WHAT KIND OF WOOD THESE NECKS ARE MADE OF BUT IT'S HARD ON DRILL BITS. OH...YOU'LL HAVE TO BUY AND DRILL FOR A STRING TREE ALSO. LUCKILY I HAD ONE TO DO THAT. THE FRETS WERE TERRIBLE. I HAD TO FRET LEVEL BECAUSE THEY WERE ALL OVER THE PLACE. SDAD FOR A NECK AT THIS PRICE. THE NECK IS DONE AND IT LOOKS GREAT. I WON'T DENY THAT BUT DON'T BUY THIS NECK UNLESS YOU'RE REAL HANDY. I CAN'T SAY THAT I WOULD EVER DO THIS AGAIN FOR SURE. OH..IF YOU BUY THE NECK WITH THE BULLET TRUSS ROD YOU'LL NEED AN ODD SIZE ALLEN WRENCH TO ADJUST IT. IT'S A 9/64. I'VE HAD FENDERS ALL MY LIFE AND THAT SIZE IS A FIRST. IF YOU BUY THIS NECK. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!
