The actors in this film are great and it showed in their acting. I was impressed with the feeling and expression they put into this film. Much of the film was shot in the evening making it difficult to follow some of the action and see exactly what was happening - too dark. I prefer a good story line where all the characters interact, but this was the story of several different cops and some bad guys in Brooklyn, and there was little or no interaction among the cops - they didn't know each other. It was good but felt more like a documentary with a clip of less than 10 days taken out of each character's life and put into a movie as we follow their ups and downs, goods and bads, dreams and nightmares . . . to the end, which was a surprise. Brooklyn's Finest (DVD, 2010)
Very Good Movie. Kept me on edge most of the way through. A bit slow but the last few scenes will blow your mind with an unexpected ending. One of Don Cheadle's best performances. Richard Gere's performance greatly balances it as well. Ethan Hawke adds the usual edge. Wesley Snipes settles into his role as if he was born for it. Overall a very good cop movie.

5/7/2011 Just watched this film with friends. I hate to say anything bad about a film, but this film falls short. Let me explain. Pros: -The performances are stellar, their strength carries the picture. -The visuals, sets are cool, put you right there, lots of gritty detail. Cons: -There's no real story. -There's no hero -The mayhem goes on and on with no point -The ending is flat and if anything anticlimactic. See it for the actors, although they're playing stereotypes, the performances are great, just wish they had used it on better written material.5/7/2011 Just watched this film with friends. Arrived early and is crystal clear...
Absolutely, positively one of the most exceptional films I have ever witnessed, looking for it to be topped with a possible sequel... Compelling, realistic and established a new genre in my book!!!!!!!!!
