In UNDERWORLD, a dark and Gothic monster action movie, vampires and lycans--an ancient form of werewolf--are at war. While the vampires inhabit a gigantic castle that houses their ancestor's tombs, the lycans live underground in a dilapidated sewer cave. Both teams are equipped with big guns, and they are constantly innovating deadlier bullets to gain advantage over each other. On the vampire side, the leather-clad death agent Selene (Kate Beckinsale) delegates teams of vamps to attack the lycans. But when she discovers that the lycans have kidnapped a human medical student, Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman), she knows the worst is on its way. Against the orders of her superior, Kraven (Shane Brolly), who is obsessively in love with Selene, she awakens the most powerful vampire of all time, Viktor (Bill Nighy) and prepares for a massive feud against lycan leader Lucian (Michael Sheen).Director Len Wiseman offers a tough, fast, and gory addition to the horror-fantasy genre with UNDERWORLD. Impressive special effects show the lycans transforming from humans to werewolves, and the lycans' ability to squeeze silver bullets out of their skin is also rudely fascinating. Beckinsale is captivating in the role of the lead vamp, with her leather corset, pouty expressions, and double-fisted pistols perfectly communicating the glam-action mood of the film.

    Awesome! Buy it!

    This is a really cool movie. In this movie vampires and werewolves (lykins) are enemies. All due to love, long in the passed a lykin and a vampire fell in love, and the elder vampires would not have this for fear of mixing species. So they killed the pregnant vampire. It has lot of twists, and it takes a little bit to figure out what is going on because this new twist. But is a great vampire/werewolf movie nonetheless. Who would have thought there was a vampire/werewolf movie that hasn't been done yet? You have to love that.

    Great!

    I always loved the movie Underworld. It's a unique storyline about vampires and werewolves battling it out and two lovers trying to decide their fate within the war. It's like a renegade dark comic and it's extremely action-packed. The dvd I brought is very satisfying and it plays extremely well. Plus I also enjoy the added footage that the unrated version plays. It's a great treat to watch over and over again.

    Underworld

    I enjoy science fiction and found this movie quite entertaining. It left me wanting to know what happens between the Lycans (werewolves) and the Vampires and wanting to purchase the second installment-Evolution! It had some gory scenes and I wouldn't suggest this movie for anyone under 13 as it is too violent. What I did notice was the spate of Vampire shows on TV in the last two years focus on Vampires in a human world and this movie focused on Vampires surviving in their world with their mortal enemy-the werewolves.     Excellent Deal - Fast Delivery
