About this product

Product Information

SLIDERS, a smart, mid-1990s sci-fi series follows a group of acquaintances who become thrown from one alternate dimension to another because of a malfunctioning invention. San Franciscan Quinn Mallory (Jerry O'Connell) has devoted his life to physics, and works on his own experiments when not studying for his university courses. His latest invention works on the concept of a wormhole, intended to transport a person between dimensions. When he invites his professor and a friend to witness a demonstration, everything goes awry, and the wormhole pulls in Quinn, his friend Wade (Sabrina Lloyd), Professor Maximillian Arturo (THE LORD OF THE RINGS' John Rhys-Davies), and an innocent bystander, washed-up singer Rembrandt "Crying Man" Brown (Cleavant Derricks). As the group struggles to find a way home, they find themselves in various incarnations of San Francisco--still the same city, but with completely different people and political and cultural situations. The ensuing mix of adventure, time travel, and "alien" encounters brings together the best aspects of the sci-fi genre and makes for a fast-paced, involving series.

SLIDERS - Seasons One and Two Review

This is the first two seasons that was on commercial television before is went to Sci-Fi Channel. This is a great series to watch. If you haven't seen it, it is worth the time. If you have seen if, it is worth seeing again. The episodes move quickly and if you missed one you won't be lost with the overall story line. The later seasons have story lines that you must watch each week to follow. These early shows can be watched in almost any order and still be easy to understand. It is best to watch the first episode first in order to lay the groundwork and understand the players and the interactions between them. Even though this series has been off the air for years, the effects and the storylines are still great.

  • Sliders Season 1 & 2

This 1995 scfi series aired originally on Fox. I enjoyed the few episodes I picked up on during the first run, and so I can truly appreciate this boxed set. Seasons 1 & 2 come boxed together and appear to be floating inside a cleverly design casing. The first 3 discs had me going, with alternate realities where the US had lost the Korean War, The Revolutionary war never happened, etc. Each episode expanded upon logic of what alternate earths could possibly be like. Very, very enjoyable I'm not finished with it yet, but I'm hoping for one hell of a Season 2 Finale.

  • Great Fun Show

Sliders is an absolute blast. The show revolves around character Quinn Mallory played by Jerry O'Connell a high school genius who invents a gadget that opens up portals to other dimentional earth's.Quinn and his companions are stuck between an infinate number of alternate realities of earth and "slide" from one earth to another trying to find a way back home .Many of the episodes really make you think of how life on our planet could have easily been much different. This show is no star trek but you could say in some sence that it's the sg-1 for teenagers. Even so can be enjoyed by most adults as well. I myself am a huge fan of sci-fi from shows like star trek,sg-1,farscape and babylon 5 and still say that sliders is an awsome and fun show.

  • Sliders - Earliest Shows the Best

What a cool premise for a show, and with a brilliant bunch of writers this idea could go on and on...(Well for 5 seasons anyway). The first two seasons of this show are some of the best episodes of the series in my opinion. The original cast of four worked brilliantly together and their personalities added to the dynamic of the episodes. It is quite interesting to actually think about what the world could be like under different conditions. In one episode antibiotics had never been discovered and people were dying from a simple illness. In another episode the US is still under British rule, and another where San Francisco is a wildlife preserve for...Dinosaurs. Some pretty cool ideas and concepts. I never missed an episode of this show when it first aired on Fox in 1995. The boxset ...
