About this product

Product Information

From Wonder Bowls to Ice-Tup molds to Party Susans, Tupperware has become an icon of suburban living. Invented by Earl Tupper in the 1940s to promote thrift and cleanliness, the pastel plasticwares were touted as essential to a postwar lifestyle that emphasized casual entertaining and celebrated America's material abundance. By the mid-1950s the Tupperware party, which gathered women in a hostess's home for lively product demonstrations and sales, was the foundation of a multimillion-dollar business that proved as innovative as the containers themselves.

  • History of Tupperware....interesting Read

I picked this book up at a garage sale out of curiosity and found I actually learned a lot about the Tupperware Company, history, marketing ploys and more. The book has lots of neat vintage photos, advertisements from decades past, and in depth info about the marketing strategies used to make Tupperware what it is today. I think our society has a mental image of what Tupperware is and who markets it, but the early beginnings of the company are actually very different than society perception. If you have an interest in Tupperware, vintage ad material, etc, than the book is definitely an easy and interesting bedtime read.

  • Great book for any tupperware consultant or higher.

I am a Tupperware Consultant. It is nice to know how and where it all began. Very good book. I only wish there were more pictures, I guess I am a kid at heart. It absolutely fits in with my line of work.

  • Awesome!
