Amazing documentary if you like esoteric scenery

I saw this in the IMAX theater years ago, and have always remembered it as being a powerful film. The cover does not do it justice. Video quality is not first class, and it won't have the same impact as seeing it at an IMAX theater, but still an awe-inspiring documentary. It shows black skies, black ground, and lakes of fire with massive blazing rockets of burning oil spraying out of the ground into the air... and men who manage to successfully extinguish these fires. Wow.

  • Remarkable footage as you've never seen it!

Wonderful filming! This story is told so well too! I can't imagine how overwhelming the experience would be if one viewed this at an Imax. The filmakers captured the ambience of the landscape and the events so well that you can't help but feel the heat and the horror of this horrific act of ecoterroism. The only story more terrifying is the one not being told about what we have done to the landscape and ecosystem of the region since that time. The use of uranium depelted rounds which have killed thousands and thousands of our own toops as well as 100s of thousands of the innocent native population, and which will make the land uninhabitable for the next 30,000,000 years, makes Saddam's affects on the environment negligible compared to this atrocity, carried on by G.E.& G.W. in the name of ...

  • Incredible with great intensity.

It is exactly as I remembered it when I was deployed for the Gulf War. I saw it from the air. It fills in the unknown as to what the people were facing on the ground in trying to put out this inferno. It looked as close to Hell as anything I have ever seen with the world blazing.

  • A story that truly needed to be told before it is lost.

This story really needed to be told. The concept of what these men actually accomplished is staggering. The whole world benefited from their work and as time passes it will be less and less known what actually happened. Had those fires not be extinguished, mankind would have suffered an environmental event the likes that we might never have known. P. Broach
