Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord is a turn-based 3D simulation of WWII warfare with an emphasis on tactics. Players will control squads, teams, platoons, battalions, and individual units. Each turn represents 60 seconds of combat -- each engagement generally takes about 40 turns. Combat Mission's focus is on historical integrity, and everything from weapons accuracy, armor effectiveness, orders of battle, and tables of order and effectiveness (TO&E's) have been created with realism in mind.

    Innovative game engine still unique after all these yea

    I hate RTS games. Especially if the computer AI has an advantage because it does not have to deal with hot-keys, mice, and moving around on the screen. At best, an RTS is salvaged by using the pause option alot to simulate a turn. A strategy game of any significant scope will take time and thought as to what the next move should be. That is where the special difference in the Combat Mission series is so, well, special! Take all the time you want to setup and order your units. Then, when you are ready, say GO!, and it will render the next Real Time minute of simulation for you. And, you can scrutinize this minute as VR (Virtual Reality) for as long as you want and from as many different angles as you want. Then, when you are ready to tweak any orders that need adjustment, you go back into ...
