Object was as described. Didn't oticed that it had an SFP port instead of RJ45, but adapters are cheap.

Great for a Home Assistant Server

I am using this Thin Client as a Home Assistant server. The 8 GB of storage was inadequate, so I managed to install a 2.5” SSD SATA drive with SATA extentsion cable inside the case. Be aware that this unit only has an empty spf port for network communication. For Wi-Fi or Ethernet communication you are going to need a usb to RJ45 or Wi-Fi adapter.

Runs Linux only. Will NOT run windows 7 or even windows XP of any type.

Good point: Very small size. Bad points: 1. Absolutely will NOT run any version of Windows 7 or even XP. Gets blue screen of death abend during boot up. 2. Came with a bare bones Linux opsys and some odd looking version of Firefox. 3. Mother board is locked with unknown password. Removing MB battery did NOT reset the password. 4. Would not acknowledge a USB disc reader at boot time. 5. That 16gig SSD is actually too small for a Windows system. 6. Spend time over two days trying to get a variety of Windows OS to run. 7. Had to do each Windows install on a desktop PC and then transfer the very tiny SSD back into this machine. NOT worth the trouble unless you like Linux and only use Firefox. (Win 7 32bit can be squeezed down to 10gigs.) (Win XP 64bit can be squeezed down to 5 gigs.)

  • Little Wyse is awesome great 24 hour server, can run Windows 10x64 lite, Linux, Open Media vault

Works perfect with Windows 10 "Lite". Lite only needs 8gb of ssd space to install. The bios password is Fireport , was able to test this unit with all X64 OS's, Manjaro, POP OS, Windows 10 x64 LITE, Lubuntu. I even booted using Hirens Boot CD x64 and made an HDD image of the Dell linux operating system, backed it up to my USB thumbdrive before I wiped the 16GB SSD. The ran and tested a bunch of Linux ISO's before going with Windows 10 x64 Lite by oprekin. Recommend downloading Ventoy, it makes your thumbdrive a MULTI ISO bootable operating system installer. After installing ventoy on you usb stick, drag and drop ISO's and boot off theusb drive. To boot from the USB drive during boot up hit the "P" key and select your usb stick, ventoy will them show up and you can choose which ISO to run ...

  • Useful small machine at a good price

Great little machine, good value. About the size of a modem/router, and passively cooled. You can install Linux and run anything you want. I'm hosting some things for my home network like Home-Assistant. I may buy more in the future if they stay at the current price point.

  • Useful and affordable Linux host

The item arrived clean and intact; it was well packed with all the parts. I removed the internal storage and added a shucked SSD, and with a Debian install thumb drive, it booted right up and installed easily. It runs silently and consumes little power -- it's a great addition as a low-power home server!
