THE WASHINGTON POST Harry Angstrom was a star basketball player in high school and that was the best time of his life. Now in his mid-20s, his work is unfulfilling, his marriage is moribund, and he tries to find happiness with another woman. • A well-written but, for me, depressing book.

I read the book for a Great Books class. It's well written and the first of 4 books about Rabbit by John Updike. It's well-written, but I found the main character a "nothing" - a young man floating around in life with not goals.
