    lasted two years - then float failed

    fuel gauge became intermittent - disconnecting and low-fuel alert would sound a chime every 10 sec or so. found that the float had leaked and was mostly full of gasoline. Not sure if this caused the intermittent connection of the wiper to the sending unit, however the hinge point for the float arm was sloppy.
