    Tanning 101 is in session

    This guide will teach you many basics most other books skim over or use fancy machines to do. I recommend this one for the hunter so he waists as little as possible!

    Tanning

    It appears to be very informative, including the history of tanning. The price was right and the condition was as advertized, good. I've always wanted to know how to tan hides and from conversations with my Mom it is lots of work but rewarding and profitable. My Grandfather ran trap lines and my Mom and her sister tended them, skinned the animals including stinky skunks and prepped them for marketing while their Dad had to be away on other family business. Perhaps one day I'll be able to trap animals and put together some clothing I have been planning on making for backpacking trips. Happy trails partner,see you in the woods.

    Tan Your Hide (1977)

    I normally would not have reviewed this book but it has gotten so many unjust reviews I had to say something. This may not be the best book on leather tanning but it is not the worst. It's a quick read with well thought out information that should enable the reader to create a piece of workable leather.It does presume that the reader is not a complete idiot. I would say that is where the bad reviews come from.
