Product Information
World Championship Baseball gives you the option of playing the computer or a human opponent in nine innings (at least) of big league baseball. If the score is tied at the end of the game, you can play extra innings until one team comes out on top. There are three game speeds and four skill levels from which to choose.<br><br>Pitchers in this game can throw fast and slow, inside and outside curves, fastballs, and change ups. In two-player games played at one of the highest two levels of difficulty, you can control the speed and curves of the ball after it leaves the pitcher's glove.<br><br>You have full control of fielders as they run, catch (grounders and flies), throw and attempt to tag out base runners. Errors are not tabulated, but the manual claims that you (and the computer) will make them from time to time.<br><br>When batting, you can try to hit a line drive or a fly ball, or you can attempt to bunt. You have control over your base runners as they run, leadoff bases and attempt to steal. You control the lead runner only, so there are no double steals.<br><br>World Championship Baseball came out in 1986, just a few months prior to when INTV began including the words "Super Pro" in the titles of their sports games. The game had two working titles: "Baseball II" and "All-Star Major League Baseball." It also has a fatal bug, meaning the game occasionally crashes. <br><br>To "remedy" this situation, INTV included the following information in the instruction manual: "Due to the sophisticated and complex nature of this game, at times interference may appear on your T.V. screen. If this happens simply return to start."
