About this product

Product Information

"There's nothing as glamorous as a record store." Paul McCartney In this era of digital downloads, the small, indie record shop might sound like an anachronism. But, in fact, record stores served as community centers, information exchanges, clubs, art galleries, and launching pads for numerous bands and record labels. Record Store Days takes a long, loving look back at the retail refuges that enthralled at least three generations of music lovers, providing a glimpse into the special alchemy that makes a great record store. Written and compiled by two record store veterans, this lively and nostalgic anthology--now availabe in paperback--includes photographs and reminiscences from musicians, music industry executives, former record store clerks, and, of course, avid fans.

Book was listed as in "Very Good" condition. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was more in a "Like New" condition. Very pleased about this. Not so thrilled about paying US$53.94 + tax for the book. This has nothing to do with the seller. This is a rare item and this price would be considered a bargain price seeing that it is almost impossible to find a copy of this used book anywhere else. Great transaction. Well packed for shipping too. Thank you!

  • Record Store Days is a must read for anyone who's ever owned a record

I initially bought this book as a gift for someone who still plays records. Once I started reading it however, I couldn't put it down. So, I bought a second copy on eBay for myself. If you ever bought records or like myself, are old enough to remember when record stores still had booths where you could try out new records, this book will be a fun romp through the past and an enlightenment to the record resurrection that is ongoing. I packed my collection of about 500 LPs away 30 years ago when I bought a house and CDs were coming into vogue. Having read this book, I can't wait to unpack the treasure trove I accumulated so long ago. This book rebooted me back to vinyl and I if you've ever held a real record album in your hands and thought CDs and downloads was all there is to music, ...
