Power sewers, You'll LOVE this machine!
I HIGHLY recommend this machine - I'd put it up against anyone else's 4-thread overlock costing twice as much, any day I was relatively new to overlock machines when bought mine in 2003, to replace a 3-thread singer serger that broke almost immediately when I tried to use it with light-weight corduroy. I had purchased a 29-stitch model sewing machine from the manufacturer of the 534 DX, Euro-Pro, the year before, and found it lightweight, versatile and sturdy- it had all metal parts. That machine handled multiple layers of heavywieght denim just as well as it did fine silk - like a charm. So I had great expectations of the 534 DX overlock. It didn't disappoint. I fell in love with the serger almost from the first time I used it. It's easy to set up, easy to thread, and easy to adjust. It ... I fell in love with the serger almost from the first time I used it. It's easy to set up, easy to thread, and easy to adjust. It also has metal internals - a real plus for the dedicated seamstress/tailor. The manual includes clear guidelines for machine settings sorted by project type, and explains clearly how to fine-tune the suggested settings to get exactly the results you want. It features differential feed: a godsend when using knits and fine fabrics, gathering or shirring fabrics. And if you're experienced with sergers, you'll find the 534 DX can do almost anything you need to do, including gathering, hemming (blind and rolled), overcast, ruffling, and even button holes. If you need an attachment that isn't included with the machine, any of the Singer serger attachments work with this unit. The one drawback I encountered was when I needed to replace the knives for the machine - it took me a MONTH working with my local machine repair shop to find someone from the manufacturer who actually understood what was wanted and could tell us how to purchase parts in the Americas. On the other hand, once I had that information, I've gotten lightning-fast response whenever I've needed a part. I HIGHLY recommend purchase.

Great Serger
I have used this serger everyday since I got it three weeks ago. I love how easy it was to thread and work with. Im impressed with the number of items I have done with not one single hiccup! I was a little scared of getting a serger but with this one it was so simple I have actually been doing more projects than ever and getting them done much faster and with more of a professional look. Its great! I would recomend it with no hesitation!I have used this serger everyday since I got it three weeks ago. I love how easy it was to thread and work with.
