Quick read and most delightful for young & old alike!
I’ve loved this book since the 70s. I noticed I no longer had a copy in my skybrary as a few have come & gone over the years! It was a must to buy another for me and one for a friend I know who would treasure it and does! She’d never heard of it which made it even more special! Kind of like Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Hope For The Flowers 💐 is also a story of US, and the inner self we can be if we but will, by letting go and trusting. This is one of the sweetest, most light-hearted stories with delightful illustrations.I’ve loved this book since the 70s. Love: Hope for the Flowers
I went by to talk to an old high school friends mother. She was a wonderful woman in my life and I valued her opinion. We got on the subject of her son along with many other topics that night. She stopped me from talking and got Hope for the Flowers from the book shelf, set it in front of me and asked me to read aloud the first few pages. I ended up reading the entire book out loud to her. When there were parts of the book that hit really close to home Id stop reading and we would talk about what that particular passage meant to me. The book is stimulating. Trina Paulus wrote what has become my favorite book. In its simplest form, the book is a great short story with adventure, love, drama and suspense. Hope For The Flowers
This story is timeless and this book has become a favor book of my entire family. I originally bought the book in the 70's when it first came out, for the basis of a story that my sons needed to present at a special function ... the oldest, 11, drew the basic scenes on an easel,he was our artist and said how hard is to draw caterpillars and towers of them, and his personality shined, my middle son 8, the brain broke the story down and memorized his version of Hope For The Flowers and the little guy about 4 used hand puppets that I made from socks of Yellow and Stripe and he "acted out" the story as the others did their part. It was a huge success BUT the star of the day was this wonderful story and what the true meaning of it is! To this day 30 years later they still refer to this book ... It has a vivid way of showing the waste of our time to get caught up in the world and the encouragement to think for themselves and to dare to speak up when they see injustice or lies. I promise you that this is one book that you will never give away. As a family at get-togethers, we to this day will be talking about some new thing that society is doing and you will hear someone simply say .."Yep, more caterpillar pillars" and we all get it!

Hope for the Flowers
I first read Hope for the Flowers in 1975. Since then I have made a point of giving a copy to all of my special friends, their children and their grandchildren. It has such a simple, hopeful message that I have used it to boost my spirits in time of crisis and depression. The stock bokers and executives that have helped to bring about our current economic situation would do well to read this book right now. All of us need to realize that we each have our own purpose in life and just getting to the top is not the way to happiness. After all, just like Stripe found out in this book - when you get to the top you find there is nothing there!I first read Hope for the Flowers in 1975.
