  • Awesome CD just awesome!!!

The Mars Volta brought us there "De-Loused in the Comatorium" and "Frances the Mute (which is my favorite out of all of them)" and puts you on a ride of Progressive Psychedelic Rock yet again. With there Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, and a hint of Santana feel but yet still there own unique style. Sounds of trumpets and guitars ringing your ears with the blue print of Omar Rodriguez's thoughts and Cedric Bixler's Vocals with his own poetic lyric's. Just flat out awesome and different every time. Amputechture is another great album of The Mars Volta with others right behind it. They are pioneers of the Decade and I am yet to find a Band that can compete.

  • A fantastic album

If I weren't already a big fan I probably wouldn't have bought the album, right? The Mars Volta is not a band for everyone, I recommend listening to a few of their tracks first before you spend your money. Their songs are absolutely jam-packed with wild solos from instruments you can hardly identify. Whatever they're playing, it's guaranteed to blow your mind. Amputechture itself, from what I hear, is supposedly all about one idea, told from several different viewpoints. The music isn't as beastly and gargantuan as the majority of Bedlam in Goliath, not as smooth or fluid as Octahedron, not as dismal or, ah, "trippy" (Hahaha) as De-Loused in the Comatorium, and I would best compare it to some of Omar's older works. Call me crazy, I think it sounds kinda like Old Money. All in all, I ...

  • Amputechture

The Mars Volta's 2nd effort (Frances The Mute) was my personal favorite. Amputechture has it's moments, but Frances was the 1st recording of theirs I heard. I went right away to get the entire catalouge and although I'm not disappointed, Frances the Mute still stands out for me. This latest record seems as though it has too much emphasis on production as oppsed to musical integrity. I will purcase their next record to see where this musical journey goes.

  • Getting better as they go along...

I have decided that besides TOOL, this is the best "new" band around. They seem to be growing and there stuff keeps getting better. While before they were mainly a duo stand-out (guitar and vocals), now they seem like more of a band. Great CD to purchase. Would definitely recommend.

  • Amputechture-Mars Volta CD

A new band that any generation may enjoy. Typically liked by the younger crowd but also enjoyed by people who grew up in the 70's. A very unique sound.
