Niece doesn’t use eBay & isn’t reliably savvy. She won’t ship back to me to resell. Clearly stated, the seller doesn’t accept returns. Again, my fault, & I’m out the total expenses. Was probably great at one time, maybe the year 2001
Product was new, but made for Windows XP, or 2000...my PC is not that old. Manufactorer doesnt even carry a compatible download any longer, it's OK, just writing it off as a donation, maybe someone out there has an antiquated computer it can be used in. I'll say the Resolution on the box photos are good, and the same for the colors on the box being accurate. My bad for not doing a thorough research on the product ahead of time. This is less than Stellar Not professional & isn't good
This product is terrible. It won't work with the PC Vista operating system on our state of the art laptop at all, it just freezes. Since he was having so much trouble on the laptop; I gave the XP computer over to my significant who is also my ace grace IT guy- this isn't some illiterate computer person trying to use this software without reading the manual, oh no. I lent him the XP so that he could work the Neat Receipt software & scanner that I gave him for a part anniversary & part birthday present. After a day of closing down everything that the software required not to be running; & inputting over 100 receipts; the XP suddenly froze with NOTHING ELSE RUNNING; except for the OS & EVERYTHING he had done today was simply GONE. The manual is less than stellar & seems to be written by people afraid to ask for help; so they've put out a product that isn't user friendly & doesn't seem to have workarounds for issues that obviously come up. It certainly was sold as such. There is no driver for the scanner; downloadable or included; which means that everything is proprietary unto itself & without the software working properly NOTHING works. That's TWO full systems that work with every other type of scanner, printer & product that won't work with this ONE PIECE of software/Scanner? No. That's awful. I'll try to contact the customer services on the less than friendly website but he's very upset to have lost precious time off trying to get this thing to work on something he's wanted since it first came out. I worked HARD to make the money to buy this & I feel CHEATED. Not by the seller who sold what he thought was a good item, but by the manufacturer who HAD TO KNOW that the system they were selling was buggy because you can't test something that FREEZES every PC its put on. I'm a professional merchant & I've been with ebay for over 10 years now. I maintain a lot of receipts that I would have loved to use this program & machine for, but there is NO WAY that I could afford to lose so much time to something that may or may not save it because it can't seem to run any length of time without SAVING every so often automatically like it says that it DOES. Don't buy this for someone you love, unless you want them to be unhappy & frustrated. Until the owners of this system spend enough time debugging it & putting out updates & fixes that don't COST the consumer EVEN MORE MONEY to be able to GET the fixes, workarounds or software UPDATES, this is a piece of garbage that SHOULDNT be given room in a tech or a regular household's records keeping. The developers have to learn that not everyone is willing to pay good money to be their guinea pig for working out the bugs in a system/ software. And certainly not everyone in this economy can afford to have to PAY to update a buggy system, software & hardware. That's a CRIME that shouldn't even be allowed by this auction house. It isn't fair to the merchants who sell it & it certainly isn't fair to the buyers who want to record their expenditures. The Herbalist, The-Herbal-Cupboard. Bought the product in July 2010. It works for me
I got one of these years ago from Woot and installed it on a Dell laptop with Vista. I still use it, it has served me well. I still use it for scanning pages to convert to pdf. It has more features, but I do not use them. I saw today that although they say they will still provide support for their scanners, they are getting out of the scanning hardware business.

Stay away from this item.
Waste of money. Obsolete technology that is no longer supported by the manufacturer. Even if you do manage to find the drivers, they will not work on a Mac or any computer running Windows 10 or later.

Take the Insanity Out of Paper
I bought this gadget hoping that it just might work better than using the scanner on my printer to feed receipts and other necessary work into my computer files. IT DOES! It was very easy to install. The instructions are excellent and the information packet that comes with the machine includes calibration and both wet and dry cleaning materials as well, of course, as an installation CD. The first day I had it hooked up I cleared one rather large file off my desk in less than an hour. That paper file is in the standard letter file yet but I don't have to get up, get it out, and then find things among the papers. I can just look them up in organized files right on my screen. If I were going to buy a gift for an overwhelmed secretary or executive for that matter this is what I would get. ...
