    Red, White and Blue by John Herman M.D.

    This book takes you through the history of the flag and how it has changed over the course of time. A great introduction to American history for young readers. A good book for emergent readers, with supportive illustrations and the font of the text is very readable, but placed at different positions on the pages to aid in the further development of visual scanning. I would highly recommend this book for any beginning and emergent reader ages 5-8.
