Love this book!
I recently bought the whole "Slightly" Series by Mary Balogh. It wasn't the first time I read this series.... but I wanted copies for personal collection of books. Mary Balogh writes romances set in the Regency period. Her characters are believable, human and very easy to connect to. Her heroines are smart, independent women, and her heros are complex, characters which enevitably compliment the heroine. In Slightly Dangerous (my personal favorite of this series) The eldest brother of a clan of 6 siblings, who just happens to be a very haughty Duke, meets a undignified, widow. She is fun-loving, has no care for the formal decorum that our hero adheres to and is his complete opposite! Just the perfect setting for a great romance. I love this book because the ... I love this book because the story is so believable, about two opposites who struggle with falling in love later in their lives (He's 36 she's 30 -- ancient in the regency times) They are also terribly set in their ways and find themselves attracted and repulsed by each other at the same time. Ms. Balogh writes in an uplifting manner, moving you from laughter to tears. I highly recommend her books, if you've never read any, start witht the Slighly series, you will fall in love with the Bedwyns!

"Slightly Dangerous"
Last book in a series about the Bedwyns. I really enjoyed it & thought it a fitting ending for the last of the family's stories. As with each of its predecessors, the romance was hard-won with interesting plot & story twists. Although I loved each character's romance, I think that Wulfric's is my very favorite. And I really like the way that this author has her characters very firmly in mind...they don't slide into someone else as can happen with other authors. Wulf, if I may be so familiar, is every inch the autocratic duke even while trying to snare his lady love. Such a delicious treat to devour at the end of a long six course meal!Last book in a series about the Bedwyns. I really enjoyed it & thought it a fitting ending for the last of the family's stories.
