These adventures have it all: history, family, education, excitement, and fun. Truly a great way to learn., In his book, Jeff Alt, takes you on an adventure through the Shenandoah National Park. This book is fun and educational and helps you to feel like you are truly traveling with Bubba Jones and his family. The book is full of strong family values and adventure around every turn. While reading the book you will want to run outside and explore the world around you. This is truly a great read. I highly recommend this book to families for read aloud or for children to enjoy on their own. I know we will be reading the rest of Jeff Alt's collection of the National Park series in the near future., I like that this book can be used with different subjects of education, such as Social Studies, Science, and Math. There is a section in the back of the book that goes into detail about what areas of each subject it can be used with. In my opinion, the illustrations really open up the story more and help visualize what the adventures were like...I'm excited about this National Park Series for children that will help them to learn about the history associated with national parks! My review= 5 out of 5 stars, Each of the Bubba Jones books are filled with historical, ecological and scientific facts about the park in question, and its inhabitants, allowing you to use one book to cross spectrum topics. Plus, if you add in a little hiking and on-hand science experiments, the education from the book will really take root!
