About this product

Product Information

First released in Japan on the 8-bit Famicom, Final Fantasy II makes its PSP debut as an enhanced remake of the 1988 original. The storyline once again follows the adventures of four young heroes as they set out to avenge the deaths of their parents at the hands of an evil emperor. While the turn-based battles and random encounters are similar to the franchise's first game, the sequel introduces a new character advancement system that rewards those who use specific weapons or cast certain spell types by increasing their skills in these areas. Final Fantasy II for PSP includes updated character and background art, new dungeons to conquer, a revised camera, and a widescreen presentation to take advantage of the handheld's 16:9 display.

  • A Great Remake of a Fantastic Classic!

"Final Fantasy 2" was a great game on the Super Nintendo, and Sony has made it better! Take up blade and spell in an epic adventure to save the world from the evil emperor! You will play as 8 different characters as some enter and leave your party of four as you travel around the world on foot, in canoe, ship, aircraft or chocobo, fight a huge variety of different enemies, explore deep dungeons! There is a wide variety of weapons and armor you may choose from including swords, axes, daggers, bows, staffs, spears, helmets, body, leg, and arm armor, and shields. There is also a wide variety of powerful magic spells that you can discover, and level up! The higher the level, the bigger the spell! The game play is great! Controlling all the vehicles, fighting the enemies, and ...

  • It's a good game

People seemed to be confused on the fact that this Final Fantasy is something new entirely. This is NOT the same Final Fantasy that was released on the SNES. This was NEVER released in the US until PS released Origins. This is a remake of that game with slightly better graphics. So when you read reviews on here with people claiming it's nothing like the SNES FF2... Duh, it's not the same game idiots. It's an alright game with some added dungeons and better graphics. If it's $9.99 get it or $15. Otherwise, don't.

  • Final Fantasy II for the PSP

Got it for my grandson who absolutely loves it. Has skipped many a meal for playing the game and not quitting. Really cheap price and expected a used game but received a brand new boxed game. Incredible. Game worked perfectly from the get-go. Asked my grandson to include a few comments, but he's busy right now...sorry. LOL. Got these comments out him before the game got here: 1- My friends love it, so I want it. 2- The artwork is really fabulous. 3- I have the first one and love it..want to keep it going. Personally, I loved the Final Fantasy Series on nintendo and the snes. Still have them as a matter of fact. Would never think of getting rid of them.

  • Worth the money for a trip down memory lane.

I bought this because way back when I had a Playstation, I enjoyed the Final Fantasy series of games. This game is pretty much as I remember it only on a slightly smaller scale. The graphics are as good as what I remember on the PS1 and the controls are easy enough to work. It does seem like it takes a long time to build up stats and "Gil" to buy armor and weapons which provides hours of play time. The only down is that it seems that when you stay within the general track of where you want to travel, the monsters you fight are easy enough to defeat but, it takes forever to build up fighting them. When you stray away from the route, you come up against monsters that will defeat you with one blow and I have yet to be able to run from any battle even if I try. The only way to get around this ...
