Movie was okay...
I haven't been a big fan of Ice Cube's movies other than Friday, Barbershop and Are We There Yet?, because his acting is a bit bland - but I do commend him for playing a positive character for the most part in most of his films. In First Sunday he steps out of the box a little. In First Sunday Cube plays a man who is trying to do good things with his life but he allows bad influences (Tracy Morgan) to pull him back into a negative lifestyle. He appears to have a great relationship with his son and the plot of the movie is based around him wanting to keep that relationship strong. His ex-girlfriend is in need of money for an endeavor but if she doesn't get it she plans on moving to another state and taking Cube's son. Clearly he doesn't want this and goes to the extreme to get the money ... Cube clearly needs the assistance of a comic in his films thus the reason why he is always placed beside the likes of Chris Tucker, Mike Epps, Katt Williams and Tracy Morgan. But on First Sunday, Tracy Morgan isnt that funny and Katt Williams did more to provide humor that the main co-star. 2. I really didn't care for the ending, its was a bit corny and if a true event, it wouldn't have went down the way it did. All in all, worth a watch but not for the DVD collection. Pay-per-view or rent it.

Excellent movie
I found the comedic delivery to be on-point by all actors/actrices. The story line flowed very smoothly. The only portion I found to be at fault was at the beginning, where the viewer is to believe that the movie took place in Baltimore City. Since I'm from Baltimore, I picked up on the minor (but clearly problematic? details) of a particular monument in the background where there's a clear street sign from Washington, DC; another was the Maryland emblem on the BCPD police car not being correct let alone the markings on the unit. I was pleased to see the landmarks (except for the one in DC) was used: M&T stadium, the courthouse, and the highway sign leading into baltimore for Rt 395. Like I stated minor details that would be easily picked up from a native, but the overall movie was ... I found the comedic delivery to be on-point by all actors/actrices. Great New Laughs Out Loud Througout The Total Movie. Some of the lease known Black entertainers from TV shows of the past. This DVD revolves around basically one location. The Church in Rundown neighberhood like we have in the intercity today as all want to move to the Suburbs. The roles played by Tracy and Ice cube were well written and directed by a new and up and coming New Director who did probably his best work and needs a deserved reward for his great casting. This film has a PG 13 and fun for the whole family to watch. It brings the truth out about a Church is trying to survive in Modern Times. I recommed older children to review their Beliefs and try to keep all a Family together as support for each other. TWO THUMBS UP Sweet66oldsGreat New Laughs Out Loud Througout The Total Movie.
