    THE BRASS VERDICT: 2 Great Characters, 1 Great Whodunit

    What's not to love about a mystery wherein one of the minor characters has his custom surfboards sold on eBay to raise money for his legal bill? eBay references aside, this is a terrific read from front cover to back. In "The Brass Verdict", author Michael Connolly brings back sobriety-challenged attorney Mickey Haller (hero of "The Lincoln Lawyer") and teams him up with his other series hero, L.A.P.D. Detective Hieronymus "Harry" Bosch. There is a special surprise in store for both of them by the end of the book, but I don't want to give it away here and spoil it for you. A prominent attorney has been murdered, and Mickey Haller has inherited all of his cases. This is a great windfall, because Haller is just starting back to work again post-rehab.
