I knew beforehand that because my application was 500mm between the bolt-on points, (BMWR1150RT) I replaced the original 1/2 shafts with 2off 220mm long x OD 16mm aluminium rod, 1/2 shafts to bridge the gap. Final install looks great and is very functional.
