Koei's hack-and-slash combat series returns for more feudal Japanese action in the Wii-exclusive Samurai Warriors 3. There are more than 35 historically inspired playable characters from which to choose, with 30 fighters offering fully developed "Story" mode scenarios. The game stays true to its roots, once again compelling players to unify Japan's many warring factions by performing an unrelenting series of combo attacks on hordes of enemies, but the character designs and animations have been completely changed.<br><br>In battle, players can choose to unleash Power Attacks, Normal Attacks, or Special Skills, and weaponry continues to play a large role in combat, with each character wielding a unique weapon. A "Spirit Gauge" fills as gamers dispatch enemies, allowing for the use of powerful Musou attacks, and the new "Eigi" technique lets players string together infinite combos. The "Free" mode returns to once again lets gamers build up their character's stats, while multiplayer fans can join a friend for local or online co-op action. Samurai Warriors 3 is optimized for use with the Wii Classic Controller Pro, and it features the brand-new "Murasame Castle" mode, which was inspired by the Japan-only Famicom Disk System title "The Mysterious Murasame Castle."

Takes getting used to, but totally worth it!
I invested in this game without prior knowledge of the Dynasty or Warrior series. As to how it holds up to its predecessors: I can't say. However, as general game playing goes, I'm happy. Playing with a Wii Remote and Nun-chuck can be a bit awkward and if you don't already have gaming callouses, you'll soon create them. The historical aspect is nice, but risks becoming redundant. You have a total of 35 playable characters, but not all of them are immediately available ( must be unlocked through experience ) and not all of them are available on each playing mode. The map can be hard to navigate when you're first getting used to it, but it grows on you after you've been defeated for the third time in a row just because you kept going in circles trying to figure out where to go. Character customization is probably the most lacking aspect of the game at this point: The selection of features and attire don't hold a candle to the designs seen in the game itself.

Fantastic!
I love this game so much! It have easy to use guide and lot of customization and items to use! There are also some new items that are really interesting compared to the second game. You can ride bears now!

Samurai Warriors is very good at keeping you entertained for a long time.
I'm a big fan of the Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors game series. So that is why I broght Samurai Warriors 3. Ever since, I brought this game, I have really been enthused by it. I like every aspect of it because there is so much too do. I would and have already told multiple friends about it. Samurai Warriors 3 is probally the best game I currently own.
